IBM Common Licensing and Rhapsody

You can get licenses for IBM® Engineering Systems Design Rhapsody® through IBM Common Licensing.

For instructions on enabling licenses for Rhapsody through IBM Common Licensing, see the topics in Managing licenses with IBM Common Licensing in the IBM Common Licensing product documentation. That product documentation has information about licenses for IBM products.

To know which version of IBM License Key Server to use with your installation of Rhapsody, see the "System Requirements for Rhapsody" page.

Information for Rhapsody

To enable licensing logging on a client machine, see the RCL_Log_Config.txt file in Rhapsody installation path\Share\Log\LicenseLog\. The format and possible options for this file are explained in the file, and how to use it and the also included RCL_Log.xsl file to render the log file. Logging is disabled by default.

Rhapsody includes a new license borrow plug-in that is compatible with the IBM IBM License Borrow Tool (for Windows only). When you install the IBM License Borrow Tool on any Rhapsody client machine as a part of IBM License Key Administrator, the license borrows plug-in from Rhapsody is automatically detected by the tool. The license borrow plug-in is in Rhapsody installation path\BorrowLicenses\. For more information about the License Key Administrator and borrowing licenses, see the IBM Common Licensing product documentation.
