Prepare your operating platform before installing a WebSphere® Application Server product.

About this task

Before installing the product, you must install the necessary prerequisites for your operating system. This will prepare your system for the installation.

Important: All WebSphereApplication Server directories and subdirectories must be in a SINGLE file system. WebSphere Application Server (the product) does not support splitting product directories and subdirectories into multiple file systems. This restriction applies to all product releases and associated service fixes.

Important: On 30 September 2022, the WebSphere Application Server family of products discontinued support for the Solaris and HP-UX operating systems. You can purchase extended support for these operating systems.
