An unsupported Lotus Notes data type causes stubbing errors

If a Lotus Notes document contains items of an unsupported data type, it cannot be processed and is put on the blacklist.

Symptoms

A document is not processed and is put on the blacklist. The following error message is written to the log file:

AFUP0026E The document docID could not be stubbed to the 
stubbing state STUB_ATTACHMENTS. See the following message: 
AFUL0009E: An unrecoverable error has occurred: This message could not 
be stubbed due to an unsupported item type, only RichText items are 
supported for stubbing:
Document is damaged or obsolete(unrecognized data type) …

Causes

The document is to be stubbed but the Lotus Notes Body item has the data type Text. Content Collector cannot process or stub items of the data type Text. Only items of the data type RichText are supported.

Resolving the problem

You can fix this error only by changing the email. Open the email in edit mode and save it. The Notes client then converts the data type of the item from Text to RichText.
