Starting the launchpad

About this task

To start the launchpad, complete the following steps:
  • If you are installing from the disks:
    1. Insert the Setup disk into your disk drive.
    2. For Linux Mount the disk drive.
    3. If autorun is enabled on your computer, the launchpad program starts automatically. If the launchpad does not start automatically, complete one of these steps:
      • For Windows: Run launchpad.exe, which is located in the root directory of the disk.
        Important: If your operating system is Windows 7, then you must run launchpad.exe as administrator.
      • For Linux: Run launchpad.sh, which is located in the root directory of the disk.
      • For Linux: Run install.app, which is located in the 32-bit InstallerImage_macosx_cocoa_x86 directory or the 64-bit InstallerImage_macosx_cocoa_x86_64 directory of the disk.
  • If you are installing from electronic disks downloaded from IBM Passport Advantage, open a command line and change to the directory where you extracted the disk images, and then do one of the following things:
    • For Windows: Run RSA_SETUP\launchpad.exe or RSA4WS_SETUP\launchpad.exe.
      Important: If your operating system is Windows 7, then you must run launchpad.exe as administrator.
    • For Linux: Run RSA_SETUP/launchpad.sh or RSA4WS_SETUP/launchpad.sh.
    • For OS X: Run  32-bit RSA_SETUP/InstallerImage_macosx_cocoa_x86/userinst.app or RSA4WS_SETUP/InstallerImage_macosx_cocoa_x86/userinst.app /64-bit RSA_SETUP/InstallerImage_macosx_cocoa_x86_64/userinst.app or RSA4WS_SETUP/InstallerImage_macosx_cocoa_x86_64/userinst.app.

Results

The launchpad program starts.
