This topic provides the instructions for installing the IBM® WebSphere® Application Server, version 7.0
Test Environment extensions.
Before you begin
Extensions are packages that extend the function of other
packages. Extensions cannot be installed without also installing the
prerequisite packages. You can install the prerequisite package either
before or at the same time that you install the extension.
This
topic describes the scenario in which IBM Rational® Software Architect
Designer is
already installed.
Before installing a WebSphere Application
Server Test Environment extension, do the following things:
- Log on with the same user ID that was used to install Rational Software
Architect Designer.
- Ensure that you have the following feature installed for Rational Software
Architect Designer: To confirm that these features are installed, start IBM Installation Manager and
click .
- If you want Installation Manager to search for the latest available
version of the WebSphere Application Server Test Environment,
ensure that you are connected to the Internet.
Tip: There are separate installation files
or disks for the 32-bit and 64-bit editions of WebSphere Application
Server, version 7.0.x test environment extensions. Ensure that you
download the files for the bit-mode that you want to install.
To
install the 64-bit editions of the WebSphere Application Server test
environment extensions, the target computer must be a 64-bit system
running a 64-bit Windows or Linux operating system.
Restriction: You cannot co-install 32-bit WebSphere Application
Server test environment, version 7.0.x and 64-bit WebSphere Application
Server test environment, version 7.0.x
