Marking and commenting on model elements
With IBM® Rational® Software Architect Designer Design
Management,
you can make and reply to comments, and draw on models to communicate
ideas about the model elements. The comments and drawings can be viewed
by others on the server.
- Creating workspace links in the Design Explorer
You can use features like commenting, subscribing, and CLM linking with model resources in the local workspace. A workspace-link allows you to work with a model in the local workspace like a model stored on the server. With a locally-stored model that is workspace-linked, you can select that model and create comments, CLM Links, or subscribe to changes in that model element in the Project Explorer view. By default, links are created automatically when connected to a Design Management server. However, IBM Rational Software Architect Designer does not automatically reconnect a workspace-link when removed manually. To manually remove a workspace-link, open the workspace links folder in the Design Explorer view and right-click the link to be removed. - Commenting on designs
You can create, read, and respond to comments created by extended team member. You can add comments to model resources, as well as diagrams. - Editing comments in collaborative designs
You can edit comments that have been previously posted. You can edit your own comments or the comments of other users. - Grouping or filtering comments in shared models
You can review and reply to comments on elements by using the Comments view. To reduce the clutter as comments increase, you can filter and group comments by discussion, subject, author, or date. - Marking up collaborative diagrams
You can review and collaborate on architecture models by drawing or sketching on shared diagrams. - Subscribing to comments in collaborative designs
You can subscribe to a comment so you are notified through email when someone replies or adds a sketch to an existing comment.
