Report Viewer

The Report Viewer widget is an interface that provides optimal report viewing capabilities from Monitor dashboard spaces. Using this widget you can view graphical, multidimensional reports and change the display in a variety of ways, such as choosing a different chart type and drilling down on measures to expose additional data.

Additionally, users with the appropriate access level can modify reports from the Report Viewer widget using an integrated web-based tool (IBM® Cognos® BI) that provides extensive editing capabilities, from changing the font to adding conditional styles.

Limitations

The Report Viewer widget does not support bidirectional languages.
If you are using dashboard spaces on an iPad, you might not be able to perform all of the functions. For example, right-click functionality is not supported on an iPad.
Tip: You can view Cognos reports on iPads and other mobile devices using IBM Cognos Mobile software.
When you are using Internet Explorer V10 (deprecated except for use with Windows Server 2012) and you right-click on a chart or on a heading within a chart, some menu options might be disabled when they should be active. For example, the Drill Down and Drill Up options might not be available even though they should be. The problem happens the first time a right-click context menu is accessed. The next time the menu is accessed, the menu options work as expected. There are two ways to work around the problem:
- Open a right-click context menu on a chart or a on a heading in a chart a minimum of two times.
- Use Internet Explorer V10 Developer Tools to change the Document Mode setting to Internet Explorer 9 standards. After this change is made, the right-click context menus work as expected in Internet Explorer V10.
