Recording events
You can enable event recording for a specific event source. After events are recorded, you can play them back targeted to a specific monitor model version.
You can enable or disable event recording by editing the event
source in the administrative console.
- To access the event recording setting using the administrative console, click and then click the event source name.
- Under Event Recording, select or clear the Enable Event Recording check box and then save your changes.
After event recording is enabled, incoming events are retrieved and processed by the monitor model. When the monitor model application runs, you can add new metrics that are not already present in the monitoring contexts that have completed. After deploying the new monitor model version, you can play back the recorded events to it. Subsequently, the new monitor model version generates instances after processing the recorded events with the new metric set values for each instance.
Recorded events can be deleted, exported, and imported into the IBM® Business Monitor database from a file.
