Document Builder - Everyday users
- When you are grouping artifacts, you can expand or collapse all of the items.
Document Builder - Report designers
Report designers can hide complexity from everyday users:
- New sample assets are available for report designers to use, for example templates, snippets, scripts, and style sheets. The sample assets are designed to work with specific data sources, for example Rational DOORS® or Rational Quality Manager. See Document Builder samples for information on how to generate the sample assets.
- Report designers can upload and work with JavaScript files.
- Report designers can select all the assets in a view by clicking the check box in the table heading.
- Report designers can select multiple templates and click the Create Report from Template icon to load the selected templates into the Design reports page. See Creating reports from templates.
Document Builder - Administrator
- The 1.x Remote services are deprecated in this release. Administrators can migrate assets from the 1.x Remote services application to Document Builder. See Migrating assets from Remote services to Document Builder.
- Administrators can now monitor long running jobs and pause, cancel ,or resume the jobs. See Managing document generation jobs.
Document Studio
- New guided tours help you quickly build and generate documents for data sources such as Rational DOORS and Rational DOORS Next Generation.Simply follow the steps in the Guide view for the tour that you choose.
- Improvements to the JavaScript editor include syntax coloring and content assist. You can also include the JavaScript as a reference link in the template. See Adding a JavaScript code element.
- Drag and drop support for creating templates from web resource URLs is now added for communication diagram and object model diagram URLs from Design Management, and graphical report URLs from Jazz™ Reporting Service Report Builder. The resulting template and document specification is automatically configured with the REST URL, credentials, and authentication type. See Creating a document template from a web resource URL.
New traceability templates
New traceability templates are available in both Document Studio and Document Builder, for example traceability between Rational DOORS Next Generation and Rational Quality Manager test cases.
Output enhancements
- You can now add mathematical equations to your documents. See Adding a text element.
- You can now set links on your images.
- You can add rich text inside links, for example tags. See Adding a hyperlink.
- The Legacy PDF driver is no longer supported. If your document specification points to the old legacy PDF driver, modify the specification to refer to the default PDF driver.
Platform enhancements
- Configuring WebSphere® Application Server with Oracle as a data source section of Deploying Document Builder on WebSphere Application Server
- Deploying Document Builder on WebSphere Application Server Liberty profile
Other enhancements
