Problems can cause installation or startup to fail on Windows.
Symptoms
The IBM® Content
Analytics with Enterprise Search installation
program does not run successfully or the system does not start after
the product is installed.
Resolving the problem
- Need to restart the computer and log in as the administrative
user
- After you install IBM Content
Analytics with Enterprise Search,
ensure that you restart your computer and log in as the IBM Content
Analytics with Enterprise Search administrative user before
you start IBM Content
Analytics with Enterprise Search.
- Insufficient user rights
- Ensure that the user ID that you use to install the product and
the user ID that you use for the administrator ID have the following
user rights:
- Act as part of operating system
- Lock pages in memory
- Create a token object
- Replace a process level token
- Impersonate a client after authentication
- Increase quotas (In Windows 2003,
this option is labeled Adjust memory quotas for a process.)
- Log on as a service
If the user ID belongs to a domain, also ensure that the domain
rights allow these user rights. For example, the domain cannot disallow
the ability to act as part of the operating system.
- Incorrect version of the operating system
- Check the requirements for IBM Content
Analytics with Enterprise Search to
ensure that you are using a supported version of the operating system.
