Overview of setting up robotic playbacks
This section outlines the major steps for setting up robotic playback
scripts and tells where you can get more information.
- Record a script. Robotic Response Time supports
the following types of scripts:
- RPT (Using Rational Performance Tester (RPT))
- RFT (Using Rational Functional Tester)
- LoadRunner (Using Mercury LoadRunner)
- CLI Command (Using CLI Command Playback)
- Samples, which can be modified (Using sample scripts)
Note: Ensure that the name you choose for the script includes only ASCII characters, to avoid possible problems later when playing back the script. - Upload the script to the Application Management Console, using
one of the following methods:
- The export wizard available in Rational Performance Tester (see Exporting Rational Performance Tester scripts) or in Rational Functional Tester (see Using Rational Functional Tester)
- Multi File Uploader, which automatically ARM instruments the script. Use for Mercury LoadRunner, and CLI Playback scripts. (Using Multi File Uploader to work with robotic scripts)
- Manual download (Manually copying and distributing robotic script)
- If you have not already done so, use the Application Management Configuration Editor to define the applications and transactions you want to monitor with this robotic script. (Using the Application Management Configuration Editor)
- Check the status of the playback (Playback Status workspace).
