Starting and accessing IBM UrbanCode Release

To run IBM® UrbanCode Release, start the server and then use a web browser to open the URL that was specified when the server was installed.

Before you begin

Install the server and database. For information about installing the server, see Installing the server. For information about installing the database, see Installing the database. If you do not use the application shortcuts that are created when the server is installed, you need to know the URL that was configured during server installation.

Starting and accessing IBM UrbanCode Release on Windows

Procedure

Start the server by completing one of these steps:
- As an administrator, use the Start IBM UrbanCode Release application shortcut that is located in the IBM UrbanCode Platform application group.
- As an administrator, run the server_startup.bat batch file (Windows), The file is in the server_installation\server directory. The default server installation directory is C:\Program Files\IBM\UCRelease\server .
Access IBM UrbanCode Release by completing one of these steps:
- Click the Launch IBM UrbanCode Release shortcut that is located in the IBM UrbanCode Platform application group.
- Open a web browser and go to the URL that you configured during installation. The installation log shows the complete URL for the server. The default URL is http://hostname:8080, where hostname is the host name of the computer where the server is running.
Log on to the server by using the default credentials. The default user name is admin and the default password is admin. You can change these credentials later by using the Manage Security tab.

Starting and accessing IBM UrbanCode Release on Linux

To run IBM UrbanCode Release, you start the server and then use a web browser to open the URL that was specified when the server was installed.

Procedure

As an administrator, run the ./server.startup file. The file is in the server_installation\server directory. The default server installation directory is /opt/IBM/UCRelease/server on Linux
Access IBM UrbanCode Release. Open a web browser and go to the URL that you configured during installation. The installation log shows the complete URL for the server. The default URL is http://hostname:8080, where hostname is the host name of the computer where the server is running.
Log on to the server by using the default credentials. The default user name is admin and the default password is admin. You can change these credentials later by using the Manage Security tab.
