Create a site
Use this page to create a new site for which you want to scan assets.
To create a site:
- Type a name of 254 or fewer characters for the site in the Name field. This name appears in result tables for assets.
- Type a meaningful description of 256 or fewer characters into the Description field. This description appears on the site summary and details pages of the interface.
- Type the Scanner daemon URL if this site will be used for analyzing distributed assets on a Windows file system.
- When you are finished defining your site, do the following step
that is appropriate to the wizard that you are using:
- Collect inventory wizard:
- Click Next to return to the "Choose a site" page of the wizard. Your new site will be on the drop-down list.
- Create a site wizard:
- Click Finish to close the wizard. The "Site summary" page refreshes with the new site in the results table.
- Update a site wizard:
- Click Finish to close the wizard. The "Site details" page refreshes with the updated site information in the results table.
