Explanation

This error can occur due to any of the following:
  • The LAN connection to the Tivoli Storage Manager client machine went down.
  • You are trying to connect to the Tivoli Storage Manager client machine using the wrong port number.
  • The Client Acceptor Daemon on the Tivoli Storage Manager client machine is not up and running and accepting connections.

The Tivoli Storage Manager operation ends.

User response

Retry the operation and make sure the LAN is up. Also check that the port number is correct, and that the Client Acceptor Daemon is started and running on the Tivoli Storage Manager client machine, and that it is listening on the correct port number.
