Configuration settings for using redundant mover service partitions

To achieve optimal reliability and improved performance while using redundant mover service partitions (MSPs), you must ensure that the system resources are configured properly.

About this task

By using the following configuration details, you can improve partition mobility reliability and performance.
  • Although partition mobility operations can run on a Shared Ethernet Adapter (SEA), to optimize network redundancy and performance, each MSP must use a dedicated physical adapter or EtherChannel. Having each MSP pair use separate network infrastructure protects partition mobility operations from network outages because the partition mobility operations continues to run even if a network outage occurs on one MSP pair.
  • You can cable the network for each MSP through separate network switches to minimize switch outages.
