Removing and replacing the service processor card in the 8408-44E or 8408-E8E

Learn how to remove and replace the service processor card in the 8408-44E or 8408-E8E system.

Removing and replacing the service processor card is a nonconcurrent procedure, which requires the system to be powered off.

The service processor card is installed into slot P1-C5.
Note: The replacement service processor card has a time-of-day battery card in slot P1-C5-C1, so it is not necessary to remove the existing card from the failed service processor card.
