Error description

  • When using the CICS Explorer "Regions" view, there is a column
showing the region's Startup Date. But when trying to create a
quick filter for one of the values, this results in an empty
    view and error message:
    .
CNX0226W A filter contained an invalid value.
    .
Even using the WUI view this gives the same error as well.
    .
As a side note, when looking at the general help for this
    field, it states:
"The date is expressed in local time."

Local fix

Problem summary

  • When using the CICS Explorer Regions”view, there is a
column showing the region's Startup Date. When trying
to create a quick filter for one of the values, this
results in an empty view and the error message:
CNX0226W A filter contained an invalid value.
This is because the CMCI expects the date format to be
yyyy/DDD whereas the date inside CICS Explorer is
    processed as yyyy-MM-dd.
This means that when a filter in yyyy-MM-dd format is
passed to CPSM, the user receives an error.”

Problem conclusion

  • CICS Explorer has been altered so that the CMCI will
now receive the Startup Date format as yyyy/DDD. This
means that it is now possible to do a quick filter on
    a region's Startup Date.
    .
This fix will be made available in Version 5.5.0.5 of
    the CICS Explorer.s
    .
CICS Transaction Server for z/OS APAR PH19076 needs to
be applied in order for filtering when aggregated to
    work.
