IBM Spectrum Protect Suite Entry is a bundled offering that is designed for businesses with smaller storage environments. It provides a comprehensive, unified recovery management solution that covers all aspects of data protection requirements. Pricing and licensing are based on a back-end terabyte metric. The back-end metric determines license requirements based on the terabytes of data that are stored in primary storage pools and repositories.

IBM Spectrum Protect Suite Entry applies to data protection environments with a maximum of 100 terabytes under management by IBM Spectrum Protect servers within an enterprise. If you reach the maximum of 100 terabytes under management and foresee the need for more licenses, IBM requires you to upgrade to IBM Spectrum Protect Suite (5725-X05 or 5641-SBE)

Pricing and licensing are based on a front-end terabyte metric. The front-end metric determines license requirements based on the amount of primary data that is reported as being backed up by clients. Clients include applications, virtual machines, and systems.

IBM Spectrum Protect Suite Entry – Front End applies to data protection environments with a combined maximum of 100 terabytes of data under management. If you reach the maximum of 100 terabytes of data under management and foresee the need for more licenses, IBM requires you to upgrade to IBM Spectrum Protect Suite – Front End (5725-X07).
