2. INSTALLATION AND CONFIGURATION
====================================================================

Installation prerequisites

Before you install the pack, you must install IBM Transformation Extender (ITX) V8.4.0.5, 8.4.1.4, or 9.0.0.1.

IMPORTANT: If you participated in the Early Release Program, you must uninstall the Early Release version of the pack before installing this supported release version. Failure to uninstall the Early Release version of the pack results in duplicate menu entries under Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features, and can cause unexpected behavior when trying to uninstall the subsequent versions of the pack components.

Removing the Early Release pack

Remove the Early Release version of this pack in either of two ways:
  • Run the Early Release install program and check Select this option to remove the installation, or
  • from the Windows Control Panel, select Programs > Programs and Features. Select the pack and click Uninstall.

Deployment to other operating systems

See the individual component documentation for information on deploying to other operating system platforms.

Installation directories

The pack components are installed to the following directory, depending on the selected standard(s):
  • itx_install_dir\packs\financial_payments_v.9.0.1\nacha
  • itx_install_dir\packs\financial_payments_v.9.0.1\sepa
  • itx_install_dir\packs\financial_payments_v.9.0.1\swift

Installing the pack on Windows systems

To install the IBM Transformation Extender Pack for Financial Payments, perform the following procedures:
  1. Obtain the image from Passport Advantage Online.
  2. Run the .exe command for the application and accept the license agreement.
  3. At the prompt, select either a "Complete" or a 'Selected' installation.

    The "Complete" installation installs the NACHA, SEPA, and SWIFT components to all installed versions of ITX (versions 8.4, 8.4.1 and 9.0.0), with no ability to choose individual core ITX versions or individual pack components.

    The "Selected" installation displays a screen for each of the available versions of ITX. Each of these screens allows you to choose which pack components you want to install.
  4. If you are performing a "Selected" installation, choose the components for each of your core ITX versions. After each version selection, select Next.

    The "Start Copying Files"' screen displays all of the available versions of ITX, and also shows which components are selected for installation.
  5. Click Next to initiate the installation.

    When the installation completes, you are prompted to view the readme file.

Modifying and uninstalling the pack components

If additional pack components are needed after the install completes, or if removal of select components is desired, you can modify your installation. You can also remove all components.
  1. Begin the installation process again.
  2. When prompted, choose to modify your installation, remove on or more selected components, or remove all components:
    • To modify your current installation, select Modify.

      When selected, this choice displays the same dialog as the initial installation. Refer to the "Installing the pack" section.
    • To remove an installed component for a specific core version of ITX, select Modify and deselect (uncheck the box for) the component name(s) and version(s) that you want to remove.

      The component is removed for the ITX core version that is selected
    • To remove all components from all versions of ITX, select Remove all components.

      Use this option only if you want to remove all components for all versions of the pack. You are prompted with a warning that all pack components for all versions will be removed.

=====================================================================
3. KNOWN ISSUES AND WORKAROUNDS
=====================================================================

Building some of the source maps might trigger M202 warnings similar to the following:

M202    WARNING:
    Map: sepvalid   Output: FileType [4]:outputcard
    Parm 1 of EITHER doesn't match required type.

These warnings can be ignored.

Documentation known issues

The topic "MT-MX translation maps example" is not part of the MT Launcher Validation Framework and should appear after the topic for that feature.
    Documentation known issues for translated document versions only

    Consult the English version of the documentation for corrected versions of these topics:
    • "How to specify a jvalnnn.prop file location." In that topic, the filename jvalnnnprop should be jvalnnn.prop and the correct pathname is the following:
      [JVM Options]option1=-DDTX_SWIFT_CONFIG_DIR=C:/IBM/IBM Transformation Extender n.n.n/packs/financial_payments_v9.0.1/swift/mt/jvc/maps

      The four options are now also numbered to show that they are sequential and equivalent.
    • In the SWIFT topic "How to set up the IBM Transformation Extender project," the example directory path in step 5 should include a swift subdirectory. The correct directory path is C:\install_dir\packs\financial_payments_vn.n.n\swift.

    =====================================================================
    4. NEW FEATURES, UPDATES, AND CHANGED BEHAVIOR
    =====================================================================

    NACHA

    The NACHA component provides support for clients that need to validate, create, or transform ACH messages. This release includes updates to the ACH type trees, and maps that are necessary to support recent amendments to the current 2016 NACHA Operating Rules.

    This version of the NACHA component includes these new and updated ITX-based artifacts:
    • Updates to ACH type trees to support the amendments to the 2016 NACHA Operating Rules
    • New ACH validation example maps
    • New example to convert ACH messages to ISO 20022 XML messages
    • Updates to the legacy examples to use the latest version of the 2016 ACH type tree

    SEPA

    The SEPA component of the pack includes the SEPA validation framework map updates for the following updates:

    • SDD Core Rulebook version 9.1 and associated implementation guidelines that take effect on 20 November 2016
    • SDD B2B Rulebook version 7.1 and associated implementation guidelines that take effect on 20 November 2016
    • SCT Rulebook version 8.1 remains in effect until November 2017. There are no updates to the Credit Transfer implementation guidelines
    • EBA STEP2 updates dated November 23, 2015

    SWIFT

    Updates have been made to the following SWIFT components to support the SR 2016 version of SWIFT to take effect on 20 November 2016.
    • SWIFT Type trees
    • LMF Maps and Trees
    • Java Validation Component (JVC)
    • MX Validation Framework

    In addition, the following enhancements have been made:
    • New configuration options in the JVC improve control of the location of the jvalnnn.prop configuration file, and make FileActMode and MessageLength validation configurable. Refer to the online documentation for details.
    • A new version of the MT950 Split example demonstrates an efficient method to split SWIFT messages. Refer to the example readme file for details.

    Documentation

    In addition to documentation updates in support of new and revised features, these revisions have been made:

    • The LMF tables are now delivered as Excel files and installed with the product. They are located at itx_install_dir\packs\financial_payments_vn.n.n\swift\mt\lmf\mapping_tables
    • This statement has been added to several topics to emphasize the need for an up-to-date currencycodedecimals lookup file:
      Note: The currencycodedecimals.xml file that is included with the product is an example only.  You are responsible for providing your own currencycodedecimals.xml file, which is generated from data that you download from SWIFT or ISO. See the Common map components topic for details.
    • Product names for v9.0 and later are updated to "IBM Transformation Extender" or "ITX" from the former name, "WebSphere Transformation Extender," which applies to v8.4.0 and 8.4.1.

      In some cases, legacy versions prior to 9.0 might be referenced in the documentation as "IBM Transformation Extender." The product name for legacy versions 8.4.0 and 8.4.1 is still WebSphere Transformation Extender.

    Deprecated functions, components and platforms

    There are no deprecated items that are specific to the ITX Pack for Financial Payments V9.0.1.
