IBM Support

Importing the facet tree and index fields used by a system text analysis engine into another collection

Product Documentation

Abstract

Beginning with Watson Explorer Advanced Edition Version 11.0.0.1, you can export the facet tree and index field configuration that is used by a system text analysis engine, and then import the configuration into a different content analytics collection.

Content

Importing the facet tree and index field configuration can help you quickly set up a new content analytics collection to process system text analysis engine results.

When you export the facet tree and index field configuration, Watson Explorer Content Analytics creates a pear_mapping_config.zip file. When you import the file into another collection, the following configuration is applied:

Index fields
  • Only the index fields that are defined in the original collection when the PEAR was uploaded from Content Analytics Studio are imported.
  • If the target collection has an index field that matches one that is being imported, the existing index field is not overwritten.
Facet tree
  • Only the facets that meet at least one of the following conditions are imported:

  • - Defined in the original collection when the PEAR was uploaded from Content Analytics Studio.
    - Have one or more mappings with any of the index fields to be imported.
  • Only the mappings between those facets and index fields are imported.

Example Procedure
  1. In the Content Analytics administration console, create a content analytics collection, for example, col_from.
  2. Using Content Analytics Studio, create a PEAR and upload the file to the col_from collection. In this step, create a facet tree and index fields to display the annotated results from the PEAR, and then create a local copy of the PEAR.
  3. In the Content Analytics administration console, edit the order and label names of some of the facet tree nodes.
  4. Import documents into the col_from collection and index them. Make sure that the PEAR works correctly.
  5. Create another content analytics collection, such as col_to. You can create this collection on the same Watson Explorer Content Analytics system or on a different system.
  6. On the Text Processing Option page of the col_from collection, you can see Facet tree and Index fields related to the system text analysis engine. Click Export to export the pear_mapping_config.zip file.
  7. Upload the local copy of the PEAR that you created to the Watson Explorer Content Analytics system where you created the col_to collection.
  8. Extract the PEAR as a ZIP file into a folder.
  9. On the Text Processing Option page of the col_to collection, configure a system text analysis engine by uploading the PEAR. Also upload the common analysis structure to the index by uploading the cas2index.xml file, which is in the conf directory of the extracted PEAR directory.
  10. Click Import and then upload the pear_mapping_config.zip file that you exported. The configuration of the facet tree and index fields is applied.

Note:
For Facet tree and Index fields related to the system text analysis engine to be shown, you must configure:
  • System text analysis engine
  • Common Analysis Structure to the index
