Improving performance in IBM Content Navigator when the items that you search have many versions in an IBM Content Manager repository

Product Documentation

Abstract

If performance degrades over time when the items that you search have many versions in an IBM Content Manager repository, you can create a database index to improve performance.

Content

When you use IBM Content Navigator to search items that have many versions in an IBM Content Manager repository, you might see a degradation in search performance over time. Performance slows when the version turnover rate is high. Performance also slows whether you search all versions or search only the current versions of items. However, you can improve search performance by creating a database index.

For more information about creating a database index to improve search performance, see Performance degradation for multi-item retrieval of all versions of items with 30 or more versions: www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21681754.
