Abstract

To use IBM Docs with Connections Content Manager, you must install and configure IBM CMIS for FileNet Content Manager and FileNet Collaboration Services. Then, for each object store, install the IBM Docs add-on.

Content

You can integrate IBM Docs with your IBM Connections Content Manager libraries by using IBM CMIS for FileNet Content Manager and IBM FileNet Collaboration Services. When IBM Docs is integrated with IBM Connections, you can perform the following tasks:

  • From IBM Connections, open documents that are stored in an IBM Connections Content Manager library in IBM Docs for collaborative editing.
  • From IBM Connections, create IBM Docs documents, edit the documents in IBM Docs, and save the documents in an IBM Connections Content Manager library.
  • From IBM Docs, create and edit documents, and add the documents to an IBM Connections Content Manager library.

Install IBM CMIS for FileNet Content Manager and FileNet Collaboration Services by using the same configuration profile and pointing to the same Content Engine or Content Platform Engine component. IBM CMIS for FileNet Content Manager and FileNet Collaboration Services must be co-located.

After you install and configure the applications, you must update the following properties files:
  • For IBM CMIS for FileNet Content Manager, edit the cmis.properties file and set the following properties:
    • enableTeamspaceAwareness=true
    • filterHiddenProperties=false
  • For IBM FileNet Collaboration Services, edit the fncs-sitePrefs.properties file and set the following property:
    • enableSharedDrafts=true

For each object store that you use with Connections Content Manager, you must install the IBM Docs object store add-on:
  1. Use the FileNet Collaboration Services addons utility to install the add-on to the domain. From the installation subdirectory, install_dir/dm/jsp, run addons.jsp.
  2. Use the Administrative Console for Content Engine (ACCE) to install the add-on to each object store that you want to use.


Minimum required versions:
  • IBM CMIS for FileNet Content Manager V2.0.3.3
  • FileNet Collaboration Services V2.0.3.3
  • IBM Connections Docs V1.0.7
  • Connections Content Manager (CCM/FileNet) component of IBM Connections V5.0 CR2.
