Installing IBM SPSS Modeler 16.0 Fix Pack 1

For information on downloading and installing the Fix Pack, see the relevant Download Document. Depending on your installation, you can chose from the IBM SPSS Modeler Professional components and the IBM SPSS Modeler Premium add-ons.

Analytic Server

If you have IBM SPSS Analytic Server installed, you must update to its Fix Pack 1 version or it will not work with Modeler 16.0 FP1.

JRE update; Modeler Server and Text Analytics

For Fix Pack 1, the Java Runtime Environment has been upgraded from 1.6 SR14 to 1.6 SR15. If you have the Text Analytics service installed you must stop it manually before installing Modeler Server Fix Pack 1. Failure to do this may cause the JRE upgrade to fail.

New Features

New platforms

  • Fix Pack 1 adds support for the following platforms, etc:
    - Cognos BI 10.2.1
    - Windows 8.1
    - Microsoft Server 2012 R2
    - Google Chrome 35
    - Oracle 12c
    - DB2 10.5 BLU
    - Softlayer / AWS
    - Teradata 14.1
    - DB2 10.5 SDAP driver
    - RedHat KVM

Known Issues

Text Analytics

  • Strings of the form: yyyy-mm-dd extract no dates greater than the 29th of each month.
  • This issue may occur when a stream contains a user input node of dates in the format: yyyy-mm-dd. When passed through the TA Mining node, no date after the 29th of the month is extracted.

    To prevent this from happening, update the $Day macro in non-linguistic entities in all your templates. Change the Macro $(DAY) definition to:

    DAY=((30|31|[012]?[0-9]|[0-9])(st|nd|rd|th)?)

    from:

    DAY=(([012]?[0-9]|[0-9]|30|31)(st|nd|rd|th)? )

Cognos TM1
  • If you use SecurityMode 4 or 5 in TM1, after applying 16.0 FP1 complete the following manual updates in TM1:
    1. Obtain the value of serverCAMURI from the tm1s.cfg file within your TM1 installation.
    2. Login to the TM1 administration page from a web browser (for example: <ipaddress:port>/pmhum/pm/admin).
    3. In the configuration tree, expand com.ibm.ba.pm.resource.security and click on com.ibm.ba.pm.resource.security.directory
    4. In the right-hand panel update CAMBIURL with the value obtained in step 1.
    5. Restart the TM1 Application Server.

    Note that these manual steps impose the following restriction:
    If you have more than one TM1 server, that use different Cognos authentication in the same pmhub, you can only authenticate against one server from within SPSS Modeler.

  • If you used the TM1 integration before applying Modeler 16.0 FP1, when you apply Modeler 16.0 FP1 you must recopy the TM1 process scripts from the 16.0 FP1 installation into the TM1 Server install. After you do this restart the TM1 Server.
