Abstract

This document contains product updates that were added on or after the initial release of InfoSphere QualityStage Address Verification Interface, Version 10.5.

Content

IBM InfoSphere QualityStage Address Verification Interface provides comprehensive address parsing, standardization, validation and geocoding, which is available in selected packages against reference files for over 240 countries and territories. The reference files are refreshed quarterly to provide the most current address data for a country or territory.

Product updates for IBM InfoSphere QualityStage Address Verification Interface V10 introduced on March 29, 2013

The following items are included in the AVI v10.0.0.1 product refresh:

Improved performance for Chinese and Japanese address throughput.
Normalized Japanese address representations
Correct parsing of Kanji.
Correct Chinese address parsing and verification.
Improved processing of address data that contains kilometer information.
Improved processing of Canadian Quebec post office boxes and ordinal numbers, for example, 1re or 3e.
Improved processing of Japanese prefectures and sub addresses.
Improved processing of the New Zealand.

Product updates for IBM InfoSphere QualityStage Address Verification Interface V10 introduced on June 17, 2013

The following items are included in the AVI v10.0.0.2 product refresh:

Improved the installation of reference data files. The installation tool no longer deletes existing data when additional countries and regions are installed to the same location.
Correct handling of input records. The input of an empty address record no longer aborts any jobs.
Correct handling of addresses containing a Mail Zone, sometimes presented as M/Z.
Correct handling of ordinal street names where 'rd' is specified as 'd'. For example, '3d St' is equivalent to '3rd St'.

Improved reference data for Brazil, Colombia and Denmark
Improved processing of organization/company names in unfielded addresses
Canadian addresses having a hyphenated house and unit number (e.g. 1700-480 University Ave) are parsed and validated correctly
Improved recognition of non-address elements within an input address
Improved validation for Chilean addresses using common abbreviations such as Sta (Santa), Sto (Santo) and C(calle)
Improved validation and parsing of Indian addresses
Fixed incorrect spelling of Australian Locality of Kilgoorlie
Higher correction and validation accuracy when input address contains wrong US state but correct zip code
Fixed various processing issues in cases where input address contains incorrect zip+4
Consistent enrichment of zip+4 codes for multi-unit buildings
Improved verification level of addresses on a numbered county road (e.g. 123 County Road 620)
Fixed processing of addresses on Highway A1A in Florida
Improved accuracy code consistency with output results
Improved handling of Chicago suburb addresses using a house numbering system relative to Madison and State Streets (e.g. 26W126 Mohican Dr)
The reference data install program works properly when adding additional regions to the reference data install package

Corrected handling of addresses with Organization and PO Box. Organization no longer is output in Street field
Korean address processing not dependent on uncorrelated input fields
County road designations in Alabama are validated properly and produce correct accuracy codes

Non-address elements occurring in Organization field are removed

Address geocoding. Includes World Geodetic System 84 coordinates (latitude and longitude), geocoding accuracy code and distance

Improved validation of Italian thoroughfares containing abbreviations
Correctly process input fields if there are one or more trailing spaces
Floating curly braces no longer appearing in Sub-building field
US military address abbreviations for "city" and "state" are properly upper cased.
US military service center and box number are no longer reversed in address field
Corrected handling of thoroughfares having spelled out numeric names (e.g. Fourth St.)
Corrected output formatting of Australian address containing a building complex
SCO and Sector addresses in the Indian city of Chandigarh are processed correctly
Output of Italian provinces uses standard 2 character abbreviations
Fixed various processing errors with PO BOX addresses
Improved parsing of Puerto Rican address with building floor and office

French thoroughfare changed incorrectly
Corrected issues parsing complex addresses. For example, a street address containing an alphanumeric house number with an ordinal street name and post directional
Common abbreviations used in street names are better recognized, such as "MTN SPRINGS RD"
