IBM Support

Manually creating a configuration profile when you cannot connect to the web application server

Product Documentation

Abstract

If you cannot connect to your web application server through the IBM Content Navigator Configuration and Deployment Tool, you can manually create a configuration profile.

Content

To create a configuration profile in the graphical user interface version of the IBM Content Navigator Configuration and Deployment Tool, you must be able to connect to your web application server. If you cannot establish a connection to your web application server, you cannot create a configuration profile.

For example, you cannot connect to your web application server in the following situations:

  • Your web application server is not running
  • You are trying to create a profile offline in one environment, and you plan to deploy the profile in a different environment later

If you need to create a profile, you can use the IBM Content Navigator Configuration and Deployment Tool command-line interface. After you create the profile in the command-line interface, you can open it in the graphical user interface.

For more information on using the command-line interface to create a configuration profile, see step 2 in Configuring and Deploying IBM Content Navigator by using the command line.
