Abstract
Prerequisite, installation, and uninstallation information for bridges

To import or export metadata by using a bridge, you must install the metadata interchange agent and bridges on a Microsoft Windows computer that is on the client tier of your InfoSphere Information Server installation.
You install bridges by choosing "Metadata interchange agent and bridges" in the product selection screen of the installation wizard.
When you install the metadata interchange agent and bridges, you can use InfoSphere Metadata Asset Manager to run the bridges.
The metadata interchange agent and bridges are shared resources. All users of InfoSphere Metadata Asset Manager with the Common Metadata Importer role, can run the bridges hosted by the metadata interchange agent. For best performance, install the metadata interchange agent on a Microsoft Windows server class computer that is always available on your network.

You can install only one version of bridges on any single computer. If you have a previous version of bridges installed, you must use Microsoft Windows Add or Remove Programs to uninstall it before you install the new version.
If you want to replace a previous version of bridges, use Microsoft Windows Add or Remove Programs to uninstall it before you install the new version.
