This file provides release notes for the IBM WebSphere Transformation Extender Packs for EDI.


What's new in this release

This version of the EDI Packs, 2.7.4.1, allows the following EDI Packs to be used with IBM WebSphere Transformation Extender version 8.3:

• Pack for X12
• Pack for EDIFACT
• Pack for TRADACOMS

Documentation notes

Documentation for this product is provided in Portable Document Format (PDF) and in an IBM Eclipse help system called an information center. Instructions for accessing both the PDF documentation and the information center are provided below. For more information about WebSphere Transformation Extender product documentation, see the Documentation release notes.

PDF

PDF documentation installs with the product. After the installation is complete, you can access the documentation from the Windows Start menu.

Information center

Documentation for this product is also available in the WebSphere Transformation Extender information center which installs with the product and is accessed through the WebSphere Transformation Extender Design Studio Help menu and from the Windows Start menu. An on-line version of the information center is also available.

Translated documentation

Based upon country requests, documents delivered in this product have been translated from the original English (United States) version into various native languages. The documentation in both PDF and Eclipse help formats is displayed, depending upon the country or regional/language settings of your computer at the time of product installation.

2. INSTALLATION AND CONFIGURATION INFORMATION

Installation prerequisites

The Packs for EDI Version 2.7.4.1 are compatible with the WebSphere Transformation Extender 8.1, 8.2 and 8.3 core versions. Before installing an EDI Pack, make certain that the required core version is installed. The EDI packs require one of the following:
- 8.1.0.5
- 8.2.0.4
- 8.3.0.1

Installing and uninstalling instructions

Complete instructions for installing and uninstalling this product are contained in a readme file that installs with the Pack(s) This file is located in the following directory location:

install_dir\packs\edi_vn.n.n\readmes\en\readme_ediip.txt

where install_dir is the installation location of the WebSphere Transformation Extender core product and <pack> is the name of this pack and n.n.n indicates the current version of this pack.
