Abstract
Recommended, generally available (GA) fixes for IBM® Tivoli® Workload Scheduler (TWS) and Tivoli Dynamic Workload Console (TDWC).
Content
Follow these steps to update TWS workstations or TDWC installations to the latest levels.
| Step 1: | Definitions of "fix pack" and "interim fix". Fix pack: Large collection of fixes generally released less frequently than interim fixes. For example, a fix pack may be released quarterly. Interim fix: Small collection of fixes generally released more frequently than fix packs. For example, an interim fix may be released monthly. | Step 2: | Determining the product version, fix pack level, and interim fix level on your Tivoli Workload Scheduler servers. |
| Step 3: | If not already installed, install the latest fix pack. a) The naming convention for TWS fix packs is "x.y.z-TIV-TWS-FP000#" where "x.y.z" is the TWS product version, "FP" identifies this as a fix pack, and "#" is the fix pack level. Example: If the TWS product version is 8.5.1 and the fix pack level is 3, the naming is "8.5.1-TIV-TWS-FP0003". If the filename contains an IVxxxxx, then that is an interim fix for a specific APAR and is not the full Fix Pack. b) Download the latest fix pack. c) Read the "readme" file for the fix pack. The "readme" file lists all the fixes contained in the fix pack. This is a separate download from the same site. |
| Step 4: | After the latest fix pack is installed, next install the latest interim fix, if it is not already installed. Note: this is not a requirement and you should only apply interim fixes as needed. a) The naming convention for TWS interim fixes is "x.y.z-TIV-TWS-IF000#" where "x.y.z" is the TWS product version and fix pack level, "IF" identifies this as an interim fix, and "#" is the interim fix level. Example: If the TWS product version is 8.5 and the interim fix is built on fix pack 1, and if the interim fix level is 1, the naming is "8.5.1-TIV-TWS-IF0001". You may also see an "IV" convention, in place of "IF". b) Download the latest interim fix pack (if available) c) Read the "readme" file for the interim fix pack. The "readme" file lists all the fixes contained in the interim fix pack. |
