This document describes how to download installation images for IBM Spectrum Protect™ Plus Version 10.1.2.x

Images via Fix Central Online

To get the latest features and enhancements it is required to update IBM Spectrum Protect™ Plus from a previous version or release. Software patches and updates are delivered via Fix Central and installed by using the IBM Spectrum Protect Plus Administrative Console.

The Fix Central Online website contains update files for IBM Spectrum Protect Plus for download. The HTTP link in the section "Download package" directs to the Fix Central Online website.

The images available through Fix Central do not contain license enablement files. You must have a base level package installed to use these images.

Warning: To upgrade to IBM Spectrum Protect Plus version 10.1.2 from version 10.1.1 GA, you must apply the necessary ISO update files for the virtual appliance as described in the user documentation. See https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SSNQFQ_10.1.2/spp/t_spp_updating_app.html. After the update is completed, you must manually reboot the IBM Spectrum Protect Plus appliance. If the virtual appliance is not rebooted, the upgrade will fail. This procedure is not required if upgrading from IBM Spectrum Protect Plus version 10.1.1p1.

Images via Passport Advantage Online

The Passport Advantage Online website has complete images of IBM Spectrum Protect Plus 10.1.2 for download. The HTTP link in the section "Download package" directs to the Passport Advantage Online website.
The images available through Passport Advantage are the base level packages. For any software patches, check Fix Central.

The following images are available for download of V10.1.2 release of IBM Spectrum Protect Plus:

  • IBM Spectrum Protect Plus virtual appliance

    This image contains all of the components required to host an IBM Spectrum Protect Plus data protection environment.

  • vSnap Server

    In larger backup enterprise environments, additional vSnap servers might be required.

  • Passport Advantage Online website. Passport Advantage is a secure website that requires an account ID and password. It has all of the component and platform images associated with IBM Spectrum Protect Plus 10.1.2 available for download.

    You can locate images on the Passport Advantage Online website by using the part number as the search query. For example, to locate the IBM Spectrum Protect Plus for VMware virtual appliance, use the search query CNS44EN, and for IBM Spectrum Protect Plus for Hyper-V virtual appliance, use CNS45EN.
