Abstract
This document explains how to download the latest IBM® BigInsights® Version 4.1 modules from Passport Advantage and get the free download of IBM® Open Platform with Apache Hadoop
Download Description
Use the IBM Open Platform with Apache Hadoop with IBM BigInsights 4.1 to set up and configure an Apache Hadoop installation. You must install IBM Open Platform before you install an IBM BigInsights module.
The most current level of the IBM Open Platform with Apache Hadoop is V4.1.
Note: If you want to try out IBM BigInsights, you can use the Quick Start Edition (see section below: IBM BigInsights Quick Start Edition for Non-Production Environment).
There are 5 BigInsights modules to choose from. Each module below describes the services that are in the module. Once you have identified the module that you have purchased, follow these instructions to download the associated parts numbers from the table below.
The most current level is IBM BigInsights V4.1.0.2 and is available on Passport Advantage under IBM BigInsights V4.1.
From a web browser, navigate to the Find Downloads and Media page on the IBM Passport Advantage web site. You must log in to continue.
- Under Download finder options, select the Browse your entitled software, select B to find your BigInsights module(s) for which you have entitlement.
- After you select the operating system and language, the files associated with your module will be shown next.
- At a minimum, you can download the bin and readme file for each module. Each bin file is less than 1 MB and you will see one or more bin files based on the operating system you selected. Continue with these instructions to complete the download of your module. Tip: Once you execute the bin file, you have the choice of using the online option, which will connect to the internet and install your services, or the offline option which will download the tar.gz files (in case your server does not have internet access).
The eAssembly part number contains the bin and readme files in addition to the bundled products that are included in the offering.

BigInsights offers the following modules:
- IBM BigInsights Analyst module
This module contains the Big SQL, BigSheets, the BigInsights Home services.
- IBM BigInsights Data Scientist module
This module contains the Big SQL, BigSheets, Text Analytics, Big R, and the BigInsights Home services.

IBM Open Platform with Apache Hadoop
This is an open source download that provides the components and services that are necessary to kickstart your Hadoop project, including development tools, a management dashboard, and cluster management tools. It is not available from Passport Advantage, but it is available as a free download as an installable product:
- Download the IBM Open Platform with Apache Hadoop RPM that will prepare your host for the Ambari installation.

IBM BigInsights Quick Start Edition for Non-Production Environment (Free Trial Version)
Quick Start Edition is a non-production edition that supports the features of the IBM BigInsights for Apache Hadoop module. The Quick Start Edition is not available from Passport Advantage, but it is available as a free download as an installable product or a Docker image:
- Download the installable product. You must download and install the IBM Open Platform with Apache Hadoop before using this product.
