Download

Abstract

You can download the IBM WebSphere eXtreme Scale Version 8.6 Fix Pack 7, also known as V8.6.0.7.

Download Description

IBM WebSphere eXtreme Scale is an elastic, scalable in-memory data grid that provides a key-addressable store of values or graphs. This product supports a processing unit, state store for applications written in Java. You can replicate the data stored in the data grid, depending on availability requirements, and you can achieve out-of-the-box database integration.

WebSphere eXtreme Scale can be integrated with existing WebSphere Application Server and WebSphere Application Server, Network Deployment installations, or you can install the stand-alone product. For a list of fixes and improvements that are included in this fix pack, see the IBM WebSphere eXtreme Scale and WebSphere DataPower XC10 Appliance Releases and Updates web page.

IBM WebSphere DataPower XC10 Virtual Appliance for Developers: Download the IBM WebSphere DataPower XC10 Virtual Appliance for Developers, which is an open virtual appliance (OVA) package that you can import into your virtualization environment. With this image, you can accomplish the same tasks, such as creating and managing simple, session, and dynamic cache data grids. The virtual appliance makes these tasks simpler. For example, with the virtual image, the container and catalog servers are managed by the appliance, and you can create data grids in the appliance user interface.

Important SSL configuration information for users who download this fix pack

The eXtremeIO (XIO) transport uses the entire SSL configuration instead of the previous set of properties for secure communication. Initial versions of the eXtremeIO transport only used a subset of the SSL configuration and would ignore the other property values.

The latest version of the product has been corrected to apply the entire configuration, and subsequently might expose malformed configuration problems that can include errors such as requiring client SSL certificate authentication by mistake, or a certificate alias name that does not actually exist in the SSL key store.

You might experience connectivity failures either on startup or during SSL handshake negotiations after you install this fix pack; for example, if SSL handshakes suddenly fail after the fix pack installation or if the secure process fails to start due to SSLChannel initialization exceptions. This error can occur if you upgrade from releases prior to V8.6.0.3. However, if you upgrade from V8.6.0.3 to V8.6.0.7, then this error does not occur.

To correct this problem, review the following SSL configuration values on the server to verify that they are correct:

alias
Certificate name inside configured key store.
contextProvider
Name of the Java Secure Socket Extension (JSSE) provider.
protocol
Encryption protocol name, such as TLSv1.1.
clientAuthentication
Boolean value that determines whether client SSL certificate is required.
clientAuthenticationSupported
Boolean value that determines whether the client SSL certificate is checked when sent.
securityLevel
Values of HIGH, MEDIUM, and LOW, which impact default cipher suites.
enabledCipherSuites
Comma-delimited list of explicit cipher suite names.
