Abstract

This document describes how to download and install the IBM® Daeja® ViewONE® Version 4.1.3 components from Fix Central. This release is not available on Passport Advantage.

Release description

IBM Daeja ViewONE is a web client that provides users with a document and image viewer. You can deploy and integrate this viewer into any new or existing Enterprise Content Management system. The viewer displays most standard document and image formats.

The viewer is a modular product. Some modules are included with the base products while other modules might be available for your use based on your entitlements.

Space requirements

AIX
Approximately 300 MB of disk space to store the downloadable part.
400 MB of temporary space to install the product.
Approximately 190 MB of space for the installed product.

Linux
Approximately 300 MB of disk space to store the downloadable part.
400 MB of temporary space to install the product.
Approximately 225 MB of space for the installed product.

Solaris
Approximately 300 MB of disk space to store the downloadable part.
400 MB of temporary space to install the product.
Approximately 195 MB of space for the installed product.

Windows
Approximately 220 MB of disk space to store the downloadable part.
400 MB of temporary space to install the product.
Approximately 190 MB of space for the installed product.

Downloading the product

Log in to Fix Central.
From the Product Group list, select Enterprise Content Manager.
From the Select from Enterprise Content Manager list, select the IBM Daeja ViewONE edition that you want to install. You must have a license for this edition.
From the Installed Version list, select version 4.1.3.
From the Platform list, select the platform on which you are installing the software and then click Continue.
Select Browse for fixes and click Continue.
On the Select fixes page, select Version 4.1.3 and click Continue to download the software.

If you selected Windows as the platform, the DAEJA_VIEWONE_4.1.3_WIN_ML.zip file is downloaded.

If you selected AIX, Linux, or Solaris as the platform, the DAEJA_VIEWONE_4.1.3_UNIX_ML.tar.gz file is downloaded.
Unpack the downloaded file into a single, temporary directory on your system.

Prerequisites

You must run the installer as an administrative user.

Before you install IBM Daeja ViewONE, Version 4.1.3:

Uninstall any previous version of IBM Daeja ViewONE before you install IBM Daeja ViewONE, Version 4.1.3.
Ensure that the Java Runtime Environment (JRE) V6 or V7 or later is installed on your system. (JRE V6 is is the minimum version required for the installer. The viewer requires a later version. For the JRE versions that are supported by the viewer, see the detailed systems requirements.

Installation Instructions

The IBM Daeja ViewONE 4.1.3 installer is a multi-product installer. It includes all product editions: IBM Daeja ViewONE Standard, IBM Daeja ViewONE Professional, and IBM Daeja ViewONE Virtual. Note that some modules are included as part of the base products. Other modules might be available for your use based on your entitlements.

During installation, you will be asked to select the editions and modules for which you are entitled.

You can run the installer interactively or silently.

To run the installer silently, update the sample response file that is provided with the image archive before you run the installer.

Windows

At a command prompt, change to the directory where you extracted the installation image.

To install the viewer interactively, enter the following command:

DAEJA_VIEWONE_4.1.3_WIN_ML.exe

Alternatively, double-click DAEJA_VIEWONE_4.1.3_WIN_ML.exe in Windows Explorer.

To install the viewer silently, enter the following command:

DAEJA_VIEWONE_4.1.3_WIN_ML.exe -f fully_qualified_path_of_the_response_file

AIX, Linux, or Solaris

At a command prompt, change to the directory where you extracted the installation image.

To install the viewer interactively, enter the following command:

./DAEJA_VIEWONE_4.1.3_UNIX_ML.bin

To install the viewer silently, enter the following command:

./DAEJA_VIEWONE_4.1.3_UNIX_ML.bin -f fully_qualified_path_of_the_response_file
