Abstract

This document describes how to download the installation parts for IBM® Tivoli® Storage Productivity Center Select Edition V5.2.4.1 by using Passport Advantage® Online.

Download Description

To download and assemble the installation parts:

  1. Go to Passport Advantage Online and download the Tivoli Storage Productivity Center installation parts that you need. You are not required to download the optional parts unless you want to use the functions that are provided by those parts.

  2. When the download is finished, complete the following steps:
    1. Verify the checksums for the part images (optional).
    2. Extract the images.
    3. Follow the instructions in the IBM Tivoli Storage Productivity Center Select Edition V5.2.4 Quick Start Guide to install the product.

  • Download the Tivoli Storage Productivity Center server image files and extract them into a single directory. To extract files on AIX, use the GNU tar program instead of the AIX tar program. The AIX tar program might truncate long file names, which can cause installation errors. To get the GNU tar program, see AIX Toolbox for Linux Applications. Find tar in the Package column, and click RPM to download the program. You must specify this program as the default tar program in the PATH environment variable.
  • Download the DB2 image file and extract it into a single directory.

Optional parts

Jazz for Service Management and IBM Tivoli Common Reporting
Cognos BI is offered as an optional tool for producing reports from the data that is gathered by Tivoli Storage Productivity Center. You can view information related to your storage resources directly in the Tivoli Storage Productivity Center GUI. Install these files to enable Cognos BI reporting.

Tivoli Storage Productivity Center Storage Resource Agent
Install the Storage Resource agent on servers that are managed by Tivoli Storage Productivity Center to collect information about the server and storage resources that are associated with the servers such as virtual machines, workstations, Host Bus Adapters (HBAs), and fabrics.

Tivoli Storage Productivity Center Monitoring Agent
Install Tivoli Storage Productivity Center Monitoring Agent to allow IBM Tivoli Monitoring to monitor your Tivoli Storage Productivity Center environment.
