Note: IBM Tivoli Storage Manager for Virtual Environments 6.3 reached End-Of-Support (EOS) on April 30, 2017. There will be no support extensions for IBM Tivoli Storage Manager Version 6.3 products. Customers are encouraged to upgrade to a current product release that has not yet reached end of support. See in TSM Family Products with Support Extension contracts available which releases are supported or which are the recommendations for replacement.

Download packages for IBM Tivoli Storage Manager Data Protection for VMware versions 6.3.x have been removed from the web as they contain unremediated security vulnerabilities. The latest version of the 6.3 Data Protection for VMware contains fixes for the most recent known security and product issues and can be found using link: http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg24037601

Note:

• Because of issues documented in the flash "TSM for VE: DP for VMware may not incrementally back up all data due to VMware issue" http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21689947
  Data Protection for VMware incremental backups may be incomplete as a result of unreliable information returned from a call to one of VMware’s APIs. No indication or error messages are provided to TSM or to the user of this condition. Resolving this problem will require an ESXi fix from VMware. Once the VMware fix becomes available and is applied, use Data Protection for VMware to perform new full backups of all VMs backed up with affected ESXi hosts. Current Data Protection for VMware backup data for those VMs cannot be relied upon.
