Abstract

This document describes how to download the installation files for IBM Rational Agent Controller, Version 8.2.0.1

Download Description

IBM Rational Agent Controller is a daemon process that enables client applications to launch host processes and interact with agents that coexist within host processes.

Rational Agent Controller, Version 8.2.0.1 is supporting only the following platform:

  • AIX

(For complete details about supported platforms and system prerequisites, see the Installation Guide file attached below.)

For the Windows and Linux operating systems, use Rational Agent Controller v8.1.1 as available in http://download.boulder.ibm.com/ibmdl/pub/software/rationalsdp/v8/rac/811/zips/ .

For Solaris and Linux on System z, use Rational Agent Controller v8.2.0 as available in http://download.boulder.ibm.com/ibmdl/pub/software/rationalsdp/v8/rac/82/ .

Rational Agent Controller, Version 8.2.0.1 can be used to profile applications running in the following versions of IBM WebSphere Application Server:

  • 6.1 and service releases
  • 7.0 and service releases

For WebSphere Application Server version 6.0x, use Rational Agent Controller, version 7.0.3.1.

IBM Rational Agent Controller is an optional compliment to the following products:
  • IBM Rational Application Developer for WebSphere Software v7.5 or later
  • IBM Rational Software Architect for WebSphere Software v7.5 or later

You do not need to install Rational Agent Controller if the WebSphere Application Server is installed on the same computer as your development product. However, to remotely profile your applications, you must install Rational Agent Controller on the same computer as the WebSphere Application Server where you published your applications.

Download Package

  1. From the table below, download the installation files for the operating system where you will install Agent Controller.
  2. Extract the contents of the compressed file to an appropriate directory.
  3. To install Agent Controller, refer to the Installation instructions file above.
