PK74129; 7.0.0.1: Requestdispatcher forward to static file serving servlet

PK74129 resolves the following problem:

ERROR DESCRIPTION:
Using a RequestDispatcher to explicitly forward to the WebContainer's SimpleFileServlet does not work on WebSphere Application Server V7.0 because of the way ServletWrapper tries to initiate the servlet.

The exception would look like this in the logs:

PROBLEM SUMMARY:

USERS AFFECTED:
IBM WebSphere Application Server version 7.0 users.

PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
A java.lang.InstantiationException thrown when explicitly accessing the SimpleFileServlet.

RECOMMENDATION:
None

When an application explicitly tries to access the WebContainer's SimpleFileServlet, the following exception is seen the log:

PROBLEM CONCLUSION:
The WebContainer has been modified to prevent this error condition from occurring. Please note, it is not a best practice for a customer application to directly reference the SimpleFileServlet.

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fixpack 7.0.0.3.
