Node Domain updated on replication target server

Troubleshooting

Problem

A node is replicated to a target Spectrum Protect server. After the replication is completed, the node's domain is updated to a different domain on the replication target server.

Symptom

On the replication source server, NODE1 node is registered in Domain-A. On the target server, NODE1 os registered in DOMAIN-B. After the replicate node1 command is run, the domain of NODE1 is updated from Domain-B to Domain-A on the replication target server.

Cause

Working as design

Resolving The Problem

During node replication:

1: If the node doesn't exist on the target, The node will be registered on the target server to:

-The same domain with the source

- If the target server does not have the same domain, the node on the target server is placed in the standard domain and bound to the default management class.

- If the target server does not have the same domain and does not have the standard domain, the replication fails with error ANR3266E

2: if the node exists on the target server but belong to a different Domain, After replication, the node will be updated to:

-The same domain with the source

- If the target server does not have the same domain, the node on the target server is placed in the standard domain and bound to the default management class.

- If the target server does not have the same domain and does not have the standard domain, the replication will still work and the target node domain will not be updated
