ISD SOAP services in Information Server version 11.7.0.0 against WebSphere Liberty (version 17.0.0.2) deploy but cannot be accessed.

Troubleshooting


Problem

In InfoSphere Information Server version 11.7.0.0, when using WebSphere Liberty (version 17.0.0.2), an Information Service Director (ISD) SOAP Service is created using the ISD Console and is deployed. However, when accessing the SOAP Service or its WSDL file, the service returns an error.

Symptom

When accessing the deployed SOAP Service WSDL file, via browser for example, the following error is returned:

ServletException: SRVE0207E: Uncaught initialization exception created by servlet
               is logged when trying to access the service

The WebSphere Liberty log file shows the following error:
com.ibm.ws.webcontainer.servlet   E SRVE0271E: Uncaught init() exception created by servlet [com.ibm.isd.ISDApp.ISDServ.ISDServ] in application [ISDApp_SOAPOVERHTTP]: org.apache.cxf.bus.extension.ExtensionException

Cause

Due to the changes from previous versions of file names and structure of the WebSphere Liberty .jar files in version 17.0.0.2, included with Information Server version 11.7.0.0, the ISD SOAP Service deployed under WebSphere Liberty cannot be initialized.

Environment

InfoSphere Information Server version 11.7.0.0 with WebSphere Liberty, on any of the Operating Systems supported.

Resolving The Problem

A patch of the ISD component in IS 11.7.0.0 will be provided to fix the issue.
