How to install the 7.6.0 version of Maximo Asset Management with WebSphere Application Server 9.0 and DB2 version 11.1.1

Abstract

Interim Feature Release 2.0 (IFR2) for Maximo Asset Management 7.6.0 includes licensing and installable images for WebSphere Application Server Network Deployment 9.0 and IBM DB2 11.1.1.

Installing Maximo Asset Management 7.6.0 with WebSphere Application Server Network Deployment 9.0 and IBM DB2 11.1.1

1) Refer to the download document for Maximo Asset Management 7.6.0 and follow the instructions to download the images listed from Passport Advantage.

2) Deploy Maximo Asset Management 7.6.0 on WebSphere Application Server Network Deployment 9.0 and DB2 11.1.1 according to instructions contained in the Maximo Asset Management 7.6.0 installation information.

3) Refer to the download document for the latest Maximo Asset Management 7.6.0 fix pack and follow the instructions to download the packages listed from Fix Central.

4) Install the Maximo Asset Management 7.6.0 fix pack according to the README document included in the fix pack package.

5) Download images required for WebSphere Application Server 9.0 from Passport Advantage that corresponds to your environment and server type.

6) Install WebSphere Application Server Network Deployment 9.0 according to instructions contained in the WebSphere Application Server Network Deployment 9.0 installation information.

7) Refer to the IBM support site and WebSphere Application Server Network Deployment 9.0 product documentation for information on migrating applications from WebSphere Application Server Network Deployment 8.5.5 to WebSphere Application Server Network Deployment 9.0.

8) Download the DB2 11.1.0 image from Passport Advantage that corresponds to your environment and database server type.

9) Refer to the DB2 11.1.0 product documentation to upgrade the DB2 10.5 software to version 11.1.

10) Download the IBM Maximo Reconfiguration Tool for Administrative Workstations and update any properties in the ibm\smp\etc\install.properties file that might have changed when you installed WebSphere Application Server Network Deployment 9.0 and IBM DB2 11.1.1. For example, if you installed WebSphere Application Server Network Deployment 9.0 on a different system than the WebSphere Application Server Network Deployment 9.0 host, you must update the WAS.DeploymentManagerHostName property with the new host name.

11) Rebuild and deploy the ear files.
