Troubleshooting the “Failed to log in to the remote dashDB Local console.” message in DSM 2.1.4

Troubleshooting

Problem

Starting from the DSM 2.1.4 release, SHA1 is disabled by default because of its weak signature algorithm. If you encounter the “Failed to log in to the remote dashDB Local console...” message when connecting to a dashDB local profile in DSM 2.1.4 home page, you can follow the steps below to resolve the problem.

Resolving The Problem

Enable the SHA1 algorithm in DSM 2.1.4

1.   Open the dswebserver_override.properties file under the Config folder of the DSM installation directory.
2.   Remove the SHA1 value for the dsweb_tls_disabledAlgorithms key.
3.   Restart DSM.
