Abstract

V6.X storage agents crash during LAN-free restore when configured with IBM Spectrum Protect servers, V7.1.7.0 and V8.1.0.0, with error TBCOL1166.

Problem Summary:
Customers upgrading to V7.1.7.0 or V8.1.0.0 of the server who are using V6.X LAN-free storage agents will experience APAR IT18469 during file restore.

Who is Affected:
All customers who have V6.X storage agents configured with servers V7.1.7.0 and V8.1.0.0.

Recommendation and Problem Resolution:
Apply fixing level V7.1.7.100 or V8.1.1.0 when they become available. Until these fixing levels are available, customers can contact IBM Software Support to obtain an eFix for their V7.1.7.0 or V8.1.0.0 servers.

Circumvention:
Do not upgrade your server to V7.1.7.0 or V8.1.0.0 if you are running V6.X storage agents.
