Problem
Creating nickname returning SQL0204N.
Symptom
db2 create nickname abc for xyz.ijk.abc
DB21034E The command was processed as an SQL statement because it was not a
valid Command Line Processor command. During SQL processing it returned:
SQL0204N "IJK.ABC" is an undefined name. SQLSTATE=42704
However, remote table ijk.abc can be access with passthru.
Cause
Create nickname statement is not valid
Diagnosing The Problem
Checking if table ijk.abc can be access with passthru.
Resolving The Problem
Try lower case or upper case of the server/schema/table name and try if adding quotation marks around those names.
