Hardware Support tool installation FAQ: - What are Hardware support tools? The hardware support tools are useful to perform the diagnosis on system. It checks system setting, problems, cluster issues and network status. - Where and why and when are they are used? It can be used while troubleshooting the cluster issue, after upgrade, SAN configuration etc. - Why would anybody need them? It contains the useful utilities to diagnose the system problems. - Is this online or Offline activity? Yes, It is Online activity and can be installed when system is Online. How to install the Hardware Support Tools in PureData System for Analytics ? The Hardware Support Tools are a set of scripts and commands that are primarily intended for use by IBM Support and the IBM PureData System for Analytics installation team. Hardware Support tools are the specialised tools used for diagnosis of Hardware components related issues in PureData Appliance. We need to install the tools in order to use them. Installing these tools do not require NPS downtime. we just need to extract the zip package under /nzscratch/upgrade in an appliance. It contains the different tools listed below and the utilities specified for each tool can be installed as directed in the README text file as and when required. Installing the tools does not require NPS downtime. To install the Hardware Support tools: 1. Download the latest package from the FixCentral : http://www-933.ibm.com/support/fixcentral Product Group > Information Management Select From Information Management > IBM Netezza Tools Installed Version > HWSUPPORT_8.3 Platform > Linux fix pack: 8.3.0.3-IM-Netezza-HWSUPPTOOLS-fp93648 -> nz-hwsupport-V8.3.0.3-20150429.tar.gz (130.15 MB) 2.
