Abstract
APAR PI55872 enables z/OS V2R1 support in the IBM Automatic Binary Optimizer (ABO) for z/OS Trial.

APAR PI55872 allows users of the IBM ABO for z/OS Trial to run on z/OS V2R1. The resulting optimized binaries can then be deployed on either z/OS V2R1 or z/OS V2R2.
The following PTFs must be applied on any z/OS V2R1 system where IBM ABO for z/OS Trial will be run, as well as on any z/OS V2R1 system where the resulting optimized binaries will be deployed:
- z/OS Binder PTF UA90987 which allows C/C++ binder APIs to be invoked by AMODE64 C/C++ programs
- IBM ABO for z/OS APAR PI55281 "ADD SUPPORT FOR IBM AUTOMATIC BINARY OPTIMIZER VERSION 1.1 FOR Z/OS" which adds z/OS V2R1 support for IBM ABO Version 1.1 for z/OS.
- LE COBOL APAR PI54804 "ADD SUPPORT FOR IBM AUTOMATIC BINARY OPTIMIZER (ABO) FOR Z/OS" which adds z/OS V2R1 support to Enterprise COBOL for z/OS V3.X and Enterprise COBOL for z/OS V4.X programs recompiled with IBM ABO for z/OS.
- LE Base APAR PI55010: UPDATE CSD SAMPLE FOR AUTOMATIC BINARY OPTIMIZER (ABO) FOR Z/OS to document adding DEFINE PROGRAM statements in the CEECCSD sample file for support of IBM ABO Version 1.1 for z/OS.
Note: the dynamic deployment feature (IEFOPZ) of IBM ABO for z/OS Trial is not supported on z/OS V2R1.
