Abstract
On December 21, 2015, certificates that IBM used to sign Java applets provided with Maximo Asset Management expires.
Content
When opening a Maximo application with an associated Java applet (such as Workflow Designer), if the Java Runtime Environment (JRE) displays a certificate acceptance dialog, there will be an additional message on that dialog indicating that the certificate is still valid but has expired. Accept the warning and continue work in the application. It is only a warning. The JRE will not prevent the applet from executing.
All current Maximo Fix Packs and Interim Fixes include applet jars signed with a newly issued certificate.
Affected applications
All applets are in (default location) C:\ibm\SMP\maximo\applications\maximo\maximouiweb\webmodule\webclient\applets except Direct Print.

Certificate expiration does not compromise security in any way. The certificates are still valid and the applet will still run normally. The next time you apply an Interim Fix or Fix/Feature Pack, it will include updated all applets with updated jars.
