Question

All-In-One ILMT v9.2.x installation hung after the Web UI Port 9081 is defined.

Cause


Environment:
ILMT 9.2 all-in-on installation on Redhat 6.6 container.


After defining the Web UI Port setting and clicked on Next button, the installer GUI hung and nothing would happen for a very long time.



It supposed to jump into the Preinstallation Summary page as shown below but instead, the installer GUI just hung.



The trace_servers.log showed the last few activities and no further activities after port 9081 defined.

The hanging would be related to checking the filesystem routine.

Answer

This problem would most likely happen in a RedHat Linux Container environment where the Linux df command produces slightly different output on a Linux container. Therefore, it causes the installer GUI to hang.

Example:


df -k shows the following output:

df: no file systems processed

Ensure the df command on the Linux container produces the same output as the standard Linux host.

The / root filesystem needs to be added to the /etc/mtab file in the container. In RedHat 7, this file gets copied over from the standard Linux host but it does not for Redhat 6.


A standard output of a df -k command would be:

Once df -k command returns standard outputs, it should resolve the issue.
