Cause
This problem is caused by a mismatch of versions between AIX OS level and Tivoli Storage Manager Client version.
The inet_pton6_zone definition is included in AIX 6.1 TL5 or later. On the other hand, Tivoli Storage Manager Client dsmc refers the inet_pton6_zone definition from version 6.4.2.0 or later.
Consequently, this problem occurs on the following conditions.
- AIX OS level is 6.1 TL4 or earlier
- The installed Tivoli Storage Manager Client is version 6.4.2.0 or later.
Environment
AIX 6.1 TL4 or earlier
Resolving The Problem
Please do one of the following workarounds:
- Uninstall Tivoli Storage Manager Client, and install earlier version (6.4.1.7 or earlier) of Tivoli Storage Manager Client.
- Upgrade AIX OS level to 6.1 TL5 or later
