RM_VOLUMES VOL_AGGREGATESIZE and IBM Spectrum Protect server

Question & Answer

Question

Can the RM_VOLUMES VOL_AGGREGATESIZE > 0 parameter be used to aggregate Content Manager objects for a standard IBM Spectrum Protect server? This would allow to reduce storage pool requirements when the storage pools are configured with native block format.

Answer

No, the VOL_AGGREGATESIZE is supported by the Content Manager application only if the target server is enabled for retention protection.

If you want that to be changed you need to file a request for enhancement against the Content Manager product, see the related link section for a link to the IBM Request For Enhancement (RFE) community.
