Creating a user from Web GUI into Object server display error : CWWIM1999E

Troubleshooting


Problem

User get below error from Tivoli Integrated Portal / Web GUI while creating a user: CWWIM1999E An exception occurred during processing: ERROR=Denied on line 1 of statement 'create user 'user'..'

Symptom

The <TIPHOME>/profiles/TIPProfile/logs/server1/SystemOut.log may show below error:
com.ibm.websphere.wim.exception.WIMApplicationException: CWWIM1999E An exception occurred during processing: ERROR=Denied on line 1 of statement 'create user 'user' ... '

Cause

This error can occur if an Object Server is configured as a default repository in Tivoli Integrated Portal (ie; you can add and delete users in Object Server from TIP/Web GUI) and the user configured to access repository does not have appropriate roles in Object server.

Resolving The Problem

1. Find out which user is used to access the Object Server repository from TIP. This can be done by viewing below file.
<TIPHOME>/profiles/TIPProfile/config/cells/TIPCell/wim/config/wimconfig.xml

Look for below section in the file. In this example the user Id is: netcool.
<config:baseEntries name="o=netcoolObjectServerRepository"/>
<config:CustomProperties name="username" value="netcool"/>

2. Login into object server from Netcool Omnibus Administrator.

3. Check if the user found above is either a "Super User" or it must be a member of System group in Object server.
