Troubleshooting
Problem
A VMware virtual machine is successfully backed up. When trying to select the backup from the "Restore VM" window, the following message is displayed in a pop-up window : "This node cannot be selected".
Symptom
Examples of messages follow.
Diagnosing The Problem
It is normal for this message to appear if you click on the check box to the left of the virtual machine in the GUI instead of clicking on the virtual machine name. For example :
Resolving The Problem
Rather than clicking on the check box to the left of the virtual machine name, click on the virtual machine name itself. For example :
After clicking on the name, the list of backups for the virtual machine are displayed on the right. Select the backup to restore from that list. For example :
Then click Restore to restore the virtual machine.
